Ron Boltz
Ron
Boltz of Novato, Calif., died on March 13, 2008.
Born in Omaha, Neb., Ron was a television and radio
announcer for the past 31 years for KTVU (Channel 2) in
the San Francisco Bay Area, and for 17 years he was the
primary promotion voice for the highest rated
independent TV station in Los Angeles, KTLA (Channel 5).
He was also the radio spokesman for Mervyn's
department stores, recording over 4000 commercials and
numerous voiceovers.
He served in the U.S. Army, attended St. Mark Church
and was a member of Grace Cathedral Choir in San
Francisco. With his wife, Irene, he attended St. Anthony
of Padua Parish in Novato.
He was a classical pianist and was a member of
Broadcast Legends. He and Irene
Boltz were married for 34 years.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his
brother, Harley; aunts; numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law. Preceded in death
by his mother and father.
