Tom Marks

Thomas (Tom) C. Marks passed away peacefully in his home on July 30, 2008, surrounded by family and his loving caregiver, Pablo. Tom was born and raised in Berkeley, graduating from Berkeley High.

He served proudly in the Air Force during World War II, and returned to begin his career as a broadcasting executive with NBC/KRON, KFRC, H. R. Stone and MetroMedia. After his retirement from broadcasting, Tom joined in running the family's restaurant, Sabella's of Marin. He was a talented musician, playing bass fiddle in well known musical groups, and had an absolute love of jazz.

Tom was the beloved husband of Angela Sabella Marks, father of Tony Marks, Jeff Marks and Vita Marks, father-in-law of Rosie Marks, grandfather of Dominic, Nicholas, Hannah and Grace, brother-in-law of Luciano Sabella (Toni), and Rosalind Clark (Bob).

Family and friends attended a Rosary on August 1, 2008, at Keaton's Mortuary in San Rafael. A funeral mass was held at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Greenbrae on August 2, 2008. A private family entombment took place at Holy Cross Cemetery on August 4, 2008. Donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma.
